how to put on gloves for a surgical technician san francisco

putting on gloves for a surgical technician san francisco could be the most hardest thing to do and is really tricky. trust me, when i first started, it would take me at least twenty minutes and my hand isnt even in the glove. it just felt wierd doing it. i can be hard because your hands is wet and also its a hard thing to do when your gown and you cant even touch the gloves with your bear hands. one of the things that helped me is to use and practice a disposable gloves, they come in all different sizes and colors and specialitys. we have different sizes from five in a half to nine. you want the gloves to fit tight like a glove but not to tight or else you will develop arthritis. if your wearing the wrong size glove, you can run in to some big trouble such as tearing the gloves and contaminating who knows what. handling the instruments wrong because the glove dosent fit right. also one big tip is to double glove. for many reason, one reason is because you dont know what the patient has, they can have mrsa, hiv, hepc and many more nasty things. so make sure you double glove or get the hell out of my room, jk.... and number two reason is just in case you tear a whole and your hang is all the way in the patients body because your retracting something. and it would be nasty to get that blood on your bare skin, that would be all bad. so make sure you double glove please. with more practice, this task can become really easy, trust me. i can do this like a pro... also practice infront of other people so you will get use to doing it, you want it to become second nature. when the surgeon is in the room and you havent gown, you better know how to gown and glove quick and fast. trust me. when i first started, the surgeon came into the room with the patient on the bed. the surgeon was ready to gown and glove (we as surgical technician san francisco gown and glove the surgeons) and i like a big dummy was having a hard time putting the gloves on. i had my instruments and stuff all ready but the surgeon wanted to go and get the procedure done and leave the room. so it took me a long time and the nurse was just screaming at me making the problem worse. so now these days, i can gown and glove myself like a pro =). but anyways, practice your gloving and become a pro. i gotta get going, good luck in becoming a surgical technician san francisco =)

how much sugical technician san francisco makes

im sure everyone wonders "if i was a surgical technician san francisco, how much will i make." well, if your good at passing instruments to a surgeon, keeping the surgeon and nurse happy. making sure that the nurse dosent run around like her head is cut off. and checking vital signs, you will make real good money. techs get paid off good, and plus if you work in the hospital, you will get excellent benifits. this job does not require a college education or degree and you still make good money and plus this field is will respected. also when you tell people what you do, they will be amazed and see you as high status, trust me on that one. just tell them you went out with some surgeons to starbucks and they will be amazed.

If your wondering about annual salary, surgical technician san francisco get paid any where from 20,000 to 50,000. depending where your from, its all different. sometimes youll get paid even more if you have a specialty. i have friends that work neuro and they make the big bucks. you can say they always treat everyone out for lunch unless the rep's dosent bring any food.

the average annual salary for techs in 2008 was around 40,000. now thats real good for someone who dosent have a college degree. plus if you want to learn this field and then move to nurse position for the OR. it will be a easy transition because you will know everything.

hourly rates will go any where from 17 to 27 an hour depending on your speciality and experiance. my best friend thats a tech started around 25 an hour and this is in the the bay area. he has a kid and he's doing good for being 20 years old.

if you want to make good money, i would advice you to build your experiance and also have a specialized case that you work in. it can be anything form plastic to neuro. or even ortho or organ transplant. thats the good place to start for a surgical technician san francisco if you want to make that money. i have friends that specialize in cardiology and they make good money. so you know, they make around 30 a hour and they for some reason always have a big smile on there face. and by the way, techs that work in the room love what they do, its a interesting job and its fun. its just amazing to save a person life. but anyways, i got to get going. i have work in the morning. good luck to anyone whos trying to become a surgical technician san francisco site

how surgical technician san francisco certified instrument

we as surgical technician san francisco should all get certified. one who passes instruments better get certified, its just a must i would say if you want to work in the OR and pass instruments to the surgeon. different specialty instruments must be used in the OR so you have to memorize them or else you will look plain stupid, knaw mean... it happens every day. and by the way, there are lots of instruments out there for different kind of speciality such as neuro, ortho, gen, gyn and plenty of more. you have to know what they look like, know what there used for and as a surgical technician san francisco, you better be ready for the challenge. but with hard work and dedication, anybody can pass it. so if you put the time in, you soon will be in the OR working with the surgeon on a daily basis. one advice i would give people is to stary sutyding for the exam early. there is to much stuff to learn, so if you start late, it can become very challenging and hard. and one rule to every thing is to study, study, and of course STUDY!. use flashcards, that helped me and my other classmates out. have a picture of the instrument and on the back write what its used for and stuff like that. one thing i would reccommend to is go out and study with a group or friends that want to become the same thing you are. so make sure you get your classmate or co workers number. also remember to ask questions. theres no such thing as a stupid question. knowing what the instrument will be used for will always help you memorize the instruments. also play games, make it fun... make learning fun. i read in a magazine that the best way of learning is to play jeopardy or any other tv show game. the key is to not make it boring but fun. if you do all these tips, you will smoke the test and there will be no such thing as challenging. my other advice is to have more friends around you that are techs and pick there brain as well. dont do it to much because it will bother them and thats always bad. in my life, i hang out with my regular friends and also co workers and you know. there all good people. so surround your self with good people and you will go far. but anyways, this is all i have left in the tank to write. hope you all become good surgical technician san francisco site some day and write me on your experiance. i wish you all good luck....

so you want to go to school to become a surgical technician san francisco

i thought it would be cool to write a article for how to become a surgical technician san francisco in the city. i was thinking of my experiance and others on how we got this far. surgery technician are called different names all over, some people refer us to scrub techs, surgical techs or even OR techs. we all work with doctors, nurses and surgeons, big time ballers =) we do alot in the hospital, we check on the patient if they have the okay to go. we help the nurses if need to transport the patient to the OR. we also help set up and prepare for suregery such as putting the patient on the bed, prepping the patient. basicly everything. we also deal with meds before and during and after surgery, counting and watching for the patient making sure that there not allergic to anything such as latex, drugs, ect. we have alot of responsabilities as techs, such as setting up for surgery with the instruments, checking room equipment, passing instruments, thinking two steps ahead of the surgeon. gowning and gloving the surgeon for surgery. keeping track of everything from equipment to instruments. its a big duty but somebody has to do it =) to become a surgical technician san francisco, we have to go through a long process of school. and it also requires alot of studying and lab time. unless your gifted and you have a perfect memory, i would say you would need to study alot. oh my gosh, i study my tail off to get where i am and its also worth the studying. for my experiance, i would advice anyone to be finish with there ged or high school diploma. if you are in high school, i highly reccomend for you to take biology, health and math classes. it will all pay off in the end, trust me... take college courses that relate to those subjects, do some intership jobs at your local hospital for central processing to learn your instruments and networking. i highly reccommend you to network if you want to get in this field. the more people you know the better. they can give you a letter of reccomendation and thats always good. so like i said, do some clincal work that relates to this job. becoming a surgical technician san francisco isnt easy but rewarding at the end. trust me... well thats all i have so far to write about that.

this is just a blogg off my head about how i feel about surgical technician san francisco

so today i had a discussion with one of my coworkers about becoming a surgical technician san francisco. this person has over 15 years experiance as a surgical tech and is known well by the doctors and surgical tech's in our town. i told this person my plan, that i want to move to the bay area to become a tech and i was down here because i had to put some of my time up for my experiance and personlly i feel this experiance is just to damn long. my buddy told me to get the hell out of here and go for my dream, but make sure that i know my stuff, study hard because i will need to be well train and go for my dream, thats the bottom line. so i thought about it and i felt like thats right on the point, why live here because im wasting my time... i also wonder what it would be like if i live in the east coast or over sea because they do traveling techs but i dont know if i would be ready for that and basicly i dont have any experiance.... so i guess i should just become a surgical technician san francisco and just go for it like my buddy the pro told me... i also discuss it with some close family friends and they said that i should go for it, i know they feel like they miss me but oh well... i should just suck it up, get my experiance and then just get the hell out of here... lol... sounds like i hate the town but im staying because i just love what i do... so anyways, imma get going biatches....

surgical technician san francisco

i was reading a article about surgical technician san francisco and they were saying that in san fran, they have the best surgery centers for plastic and laparscopic. i am from san diego but my family stays in the bay area up in the east bay. i have a few friends that work for kaiser and standford. i even have some friends that got operated in the bay area as well. they told me that the surgery went good, the nurses are nice and the surgeons are easy to talk to during hard times. after all the surgery done, they said that the surgery's went good and made surgery sound nice. i am a surgeon tech myself but i work in central, my goal is to make it to the bay area, but personly i want to work in the city, either san jose or san francisco. i love the city, the bars and the people so it makes since for me to go out there... so hopefully in the next year or so i can make my way out there, working in a hospital with in patient but not a surgery center because its to fast pace, nurses run around crazy like there heads are cut off and like i said, its is just way to face paced. although they do alot of general cases, easy cases and stuff like that. its more of a place for me to go to when i have five years under my belt, im known as a pro and surgeon's have respect for me. so if i can do that, it would feel really good for me. i would reward myself with food. well thats all i can write, hopefully some day i can be a surgical technician san francisco.
